Fun RVR Tie Fact of the Week

Don't wear an ugly tie in a Wall Street trading room. As a tradition going back to the early 1960s, a trader with the ugliest tie of the day, would face his tie being cut in half with a scissor by another trader colleague. Part of the penalty for wearing the 'bad tie' was having to wear half a tie for the rest of the day. The bright side was that it would be hung on the 'Wall of Fame' and the tie cutter was responsible for getting the victim a new tie.
